Welcome to our studios! We are Josie Williams and Roberta Osterode, private piano teachers in Huntington Beach with over 40 years combined teaching experience. We recognize the potential in each one of our students. With our customizable approach, we've seen our students’ self-esteem and skill-set consistently rise. BEGINNER TO ADVANCED MUSIC THEORY
We know how difficult it can be to find a reliable teacher that focuses on all levels of Music Theory. Teachers need to be able to motivate and guide students towards success. As experienced and passionate Piano Instructors, we believe in an approach that gives students positive, constructive ways to learn. We design our lessons according to our students’ needs, with an emphasis on confidence-boosting activities.
CERTIFICATE OF MERIT PREPARATION
Certificate of Merit is a statewide program of graded music education made available to students of music teachers who are members of the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC). We plan annual music instruction using a carefully researched syllabus for the Certificate of Merit Program. Students are tested at their specific levels in sight reading, technique, performance, ear training, and written theory.
MUSIC FOR LITTLE MOZARTS
Join Josie in this course! It is a great and fun way to get your little ones learning and experiencing music. Our Little Mozarts will sing, dance, make music and march all while learning about music.

Josie Williams has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from UC Irvine and over 15 years piano teaching experience. She completed a Piano Scholarship at Orange Coast College in addition to having spent three semesters being a teaching assistant for OCC’s Piano 2 Group Class and Piano 5/6 Masterclass during the course of her studies. Josie has been a member of MTAC-OCW since 2019 and offers student participation and training in the Certificate of Merit Program. She inspires students by showing them they can express their thoughts and feelings through music and encourages them to choose pieces and styles that they would like to learn. Josie teaches because she is a firm believer that music enriches lives.
With more than 30 years teaching experience, Roberta Osterode offers her students the very best in her dedication to their education. She attended UC Irvine as a piano major and graduated from CSULB in Piano. Roberta has been a member of MTAC-OCW since 1988- former President, current Secretary. She currently teaches piano and theory, specializing in the Certificate of Merit Program. She teaches all ages and abilities and is also Cantor and Vocal Soloist at King of Glory Lutheran Church, Fountain Valley since 2007.
